Would you belive the following are legal tax deductions according to 2005 IRS Publication 502 – Medical & Dental Expenses?
Page 5 – You can include in medical expenses the amount you pay for birth control pills prescribed by a doctor.
Page 5 – You can include in medical expenses the amount you pay for a legal abortion.
Page 7 – Surgery to prevent a person from having children, also the includes the reversal of such surgery.
Page 7 also states that procedures such as in vitro fertilization are deductible as well. I personally feel that neither fertility modification surgery should be deductable.
Maybe its time for your congress person to get a note from you.
