Labor Day Push

While it doesn’t look like we will be able to offer 11,000 offerings this summer against pornography, it does look like we’ll have 1000. Thank You & God Bless to all those who have helped. Let’s have one final push this Labor Day Weekend. Please submit your offerings to the left.

Can’t be Pro-Choice & Catholic

Sorry folks but it has been a while since I’ve posted.  Not that anyone is waiting with baited breath for what I have to say but I seem to have lost my desire to post on a daily basis.  Even with Nancy Pelosi showing she has either been poorly catechized or feels its okay to lie about what “her” catholic faith teaches.  Small C was used on purpose there.  I suggest everyone send Nancy a note to let her now that life begins at conception.  While your at it send one to Joe Biden too.  (For Nancy) (For Joe)

Just tell them the truth.  You can’t be Pro-Choice and Catholic.

Its 2000 freakin 8.  If they are so dense to think they can be then they should be voted out of Congress.  We need to put pressure on our representatives and on our Bishops.  The Bishops are starting to listen eventually so will our Catholic politicians, but we have to hold their feet to the fire.  And while you’re at it you need to make sure you family and your kids know that you can’t be Pro-Choice and Catholic.

Lastly pray, pray for our Bishops, our Clergy, and our Representatives.  For hearts to change prayer has to be constant.  God Bless.

Lots Going On

Again prolonged time without an artcile.  My wife and I are in the middle of bathroom remodel and its taking much of my free time.  I have lots on my mind considering all the election news and the selection of "Catholic Pro-Choice" Vice Presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Lets be absolutely clear, it is not possible to be Catholic and Pro-Choice, and I hope the Church will take this opportunity to address the issue once and for all.

Catholics who support abortion should not receive Communion, says Archbishop Burke

.- The prefect of the Apostolic Signature, Archbishop Raymond Burke, said this week that Catholics, especially politicians who publically defend abortion, should not receive Communion, and that ministers of Communion should be responsibly charitable in denying it to them if they ask for it, “until they have reformed their lives.”

In an interview with the magazine, Radici Christiane, Archbishop Burke pointed out that there is often a lack of reverence at Mass when receiving Communion. “Receiving the Body and Blood of Christ unworthily is a sacrilege,” he warned. “If it is done deliberately in mortal sin it is a sacrilege.”

To illustrate his point, he referred to “public officials who, with knowledge and consent, uphold actions that are against the Divine and Eternal moral law. For example, if they support abortion, which entails the taking of innocent and defenseless human lives. A person who commits sin in this way should be publicly admonished in such a way as to not receive Communion until he or she has reformed his life,” the archbishop said.

“If a person who has been admonished persists in public mortal sin and attempts to receive Communion, the minister of the Eucharist has the obligation to deny it to him. Why? Above all, for the salvation of that person, preventing him from committing a sacrilege,” he added.

“We must avoid giving people the impression that one can be in a state of mortal sin and receive the Eucharist,” the archbishop continued. “Secondly, there could be another form of scandal, consisting of leading people to think that the public act that this person is doing, which until now everyone believed was a serious sin, is really not that serious – if the Church allows him or her to receive Communion.”

“If we have a public figure who is openly and deliberately upholding abortion rights and receiving the Eucharist, what will the average person think? He or she could come to believe that it up to a certain point it is okay to do away with an innocent life in the mother’s womb,” he warned.

Archbishop Burke also noted that when a bishop or a Church leader prevents an abortion supporter from receiving Communion, “it is not with the intention of interfering in public life but rather in the spiritual state of the politician or public official who, if Catholic, should follow the divine law in the public sphere as well.”

“Therefore, it is simply ridiculous and wrong to try to silence a pastor, accusing him of interfering in politics so that he cannot do good to the soul of a member of his flock,” he stated.

It is “simply wrong” to think that the faith must be reduced to the private sphere and eliminated from public life, Archbishop Burke said, encouraging Catholics “to bear witness to our faith not only in private in our homes but also in our public lives with others in order to bear strong witness to Christ.”

Prayer For Our Nation

The following prayer was givien by Billy Graham.  As a Catholic I will have my sin cleansed in the confessional, but this pray certainly speaks of our world today.  May we all desire to be called ‘One Nation Under God’

Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, ‘Woe to those who call evil good,’ but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.

  • We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
  • We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
  • We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
  • We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
  • We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.
  • We have abused power and called it politics.
  • We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition
  • We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
  • We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!’

Kinetic Body Rosary

I have a suggestion for how to say the rosary when you don’t have a set of rosary beads in your hands. I think many people just count the 10 Hail Mary’s on their finger when they don’t have beads, but I suggest using your feet, knees, hips, hands, and shoulders to count. On each Hail Mary cross your body part as a priest would give a blessing and work your way up from right foot to left foot to right knee to left knee to right hip etc… all the way up to your left shoulder. To me this is much easier to do while driving than even using beads especially when drinking a coffee in the car at the same time.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Sorry folks for going so long without a post or an explanation but I guess the devil has just made it so I’m too busy at work and home to make it to the website to put a post up. I guess I’ll try and call this summer lull in posting a blog vacation but I’ve been doing everything but relaxing. Still doing a daily rosary but even that has become hurried. I look forward to getting to Mass today. It’s sometimes good to have these days during the week where one is obligated to go to Mass. It forces us to get out of our busy streak to focus on what is truly important. God Bless.

Four Words

A king called all of his wise men and counselors together for a
meeting. He addressed them and said, “I want you to go and
think, read, and research. Consult the wisest and most learned
men in the land. Spare no expense.”

“I want you to find the ONE statement that will get me through
all situations in life. Whether I am on top of the world or in
the pits, find that statement.”

“I don’t want to learn long and complicated philosophies.
I want one simple statement. Find it or write it; I don’t care,
just bring me the statement.”

The men left and consulted for months.
They finally returned and handed the King a scroll.

The King unrolled the scroll. On it was written four words.

That was it.

The wise men explained.

When you are on top of the world, that is but a fleeting
moment, things change, always remember, this too shall pass.

When you are in the pits, all nights are followed by day, at
your lowest moments remember also, this too shall pass.

All external circumstances and material things change.

No matter what your circumstances, remember,

The wise men reminded the great King that this would get him
through his earthly things but the truly wise knew there were
things beyond this earth and life. . .

Things that were eternal.

True wisdom they reminded the King was in the ability to
recognize the fleeting temporal things of the material world
from the truly eternal things.

O Great King they said, “Most of the things that you worry or
gloat about are temporary and our four words apply.”

For most of your situations. . .
