More Reconciliation Please

Its been a while since I’ve wrote anything and I been spending a lot of my time doing projects around the house.  I was able to make it to Reconciliation last Saturday afternoon.  I always feel great coming out of the confessional.

I will say that Saturday afternoons are probably not the best time for Priests to get a big crowd at the confessional booth although when I was there, there was a steady line of 3 to 4 people waiting.  What’s interesting is you hear about Priests who later became recognized Saints hearing confessions for 12 to 15 hours a day.  Where are those priests today?  I’m thinking if priests really wanted to hear confessions they’d secure some space at the local mall between Thanksgiving & Christmas or set up a regular evening times during the week.

If we want to build a society of people filled with the Holy Spirit then reconciliation needs to be made more available than it is currently.  Logic should lead to the conclusion that a fallen people would need access to forgiveness just as much, if not more so, than they do to the Eucharist.  If people should be in a state of grace in order to receive the Eucharist then Reconciliation needs to be made more available.
