Back in the 1920′s Herbert Hoover was quoted as saying “A chicken in every pot and a car in every garage” as one of his campaign slogans promising prosperity if elected president. Unfortunately President Hoover didn’t see the 1929 stock market crash and the Great Depression coming.

Today there is a portion of our society that is less concerned about economic prosperity and more concerned about the access to abortion on demand. One of my beloved (tongue firmly planted in cheek) TV liberals ,Rachel Maddow, who I watch every so often just to see what the other side is up to, and is ever so gay (that use to mean happy), was concerned recently that 87% of counties in the United States had no access to an abortion “clinic”. Rachel’s slogan would be “an abortion clinic in every county, and 3 abortionists in every clinic” is she were running for president.
So I thought I’d do some checking. I checked the 2008 Abortion Statistics for the state of Kansas page 8 of the PDF or Page 6 of the document. 94 of 106 (that’s 89%) of Kansas counties had an abortion performed in them last year. What difference does it make whether a county has an abortion clinic or not when they are still performed at other facilities? Kansas isn’t the most populated of states so what difference does it make if 87% of US counties don’t have abortion clinics when, if I extrapolate the Kansas numbers, that 89% of US counties have abortions performed in them? A number that I’m sure Ms. Maddow’s wouldn’t be happy with until it reaches 100%.
The pro-aborts aren’t much worried about reducing abortions as they say they are, they are only concerned that they are performed everywhere, and that is why I refer to them as pro-aborts.
