Surgical Abortions, Thats So 1980s

The Associated Press recently reported that roughly ¼ of American women are now getting abortions via drugs rather than “surgery”. In my estimation the Pro-Life community has won the battle on surgical abortions as there are less and less doctors who are willing to dismember a baby inside or partially outside the womb. There are few left and fewer entering the ranks to provide abortions for a living. Even with the mainstream media’s attempt to turn Dr. Tiller into a hero of “women’s rights” new medical professionals just aren’t signing up to spend the rest of their lives killing in utero babies with their hands and wonder if the next Scott Roder is waiting to say hello outside their “office”.

But just because the momentum would suggest the Pro-Life community has won the battle doesn’t mean the war is over. The new generation of abortion providers aren’t going to touch the fetus, after all that is so 1980ish, the new medical professional will just have to prescribe a pill that does the dirty work of abortion for them. Yes, deadly little pills that can just show up in the mail and can go home with the patient. How quaint and private no more getting those medical hands dirty tearing apart the fetus or injecting the woman’s belly with a big ole needle.

Lets go protest the drug maker you say, the only problem is I don’t think the Chinese government is going to let you. You see the manufacture of mifepristone, a synthetic steroid sold under the brand name Mifeprex that is used as an abortifacient in the first two months of pregnancy, is produced in China. With all the poorly made products hitting the US from China the FDA has said their okay with the setup. Mifepristone’s American distributor, Danco Laboratories, LLC, supposedly resides in an undisclosed location in New York City. Sure an undisclosed location can be discovered and I even found an address here on the Internet (Danco Laboratories Address?) but its not like New York City is exactly the hot bed of Pro-Life activities. In addition I would surmise the employees of Danco (all two of them it appears) probably work from home and drop-ship the pills from China right to the doctor’s office.

Yes the battle against surgical abortions appears to have been won but once abortion goes underground again with pills will there be any good way to fight it? Just when the American public was turning the corner to be decidedly against abortion the killing of a baby is now as easy as taking a pill. What on earth has the human race come to, we are so fallen.

Obviously the situation needs much pray put forth to change the hearts and minds of the next generation. We cannot to despair as we have true hope in our savior Jesus Christ, who allows us to receive him body, blood, soul and divinity everyday of our lives if we choose too, all we have to do is Get To Mass.
