The Persecution is Coming? Or is it Already Here?

I posted this more than a year ago.

http://www.gettomass.com/2008/06/gay-marriage/

Since then both California & Maine have had ballot initiatives that beat back Gay Marriage for the 30th & 31st straight time where the people were allowed to vote on the issue.  But the defeat of gay marriage in both California & Maine took contributions from across the country in order to succeed.  Groups like Missouri’s “Show Me No Hate” are now picketing at the Cathedral in St. Louis because a $10,000 contribution that was made to Maine’s Gay Marriage fight from the Dioceses of St. Louis.  Show Me No Hate claims that the money should have gone to feed the poor, even though the Catholic Church does more to feed and cloth the poor than any organization in the world 10 times over.  If “Show Me No Hate” is so concerned about the feeding and clothing the poor I would like to know what they are doing about the problem in St. Louis.  Anything?  Has their group given any time or money to help the poor?  I would doubt it but they can find time to picket a Catholic Church on a Sunday afternoon throughout the month of December.

Wake up people the persecution is already here.  If people are picketing Mass goers in St. Louis it will be very soon that they will be outside your parish the next time you Get To Mass.

  • I think it’s already here. We already have too many anti-Catholic entities going on in the US with the support of the American people. Plus, if you count the number of blog posts about this topic (including 2 of my own), it would probably signal that something fishy has already come around the corner though.

That being said, I don’t think the anti-Catholic bomb has exploded yet. That’s probably going to be later into the future.

Besides, you know how Soulforce has done those tours throughout the US to Christian schools that disapprove of GLBT activity? At least they haven’t planned a Catholic tour yet (remain optimistic, right? :-D )!
