New Access

I now have access to my blog from my new iPad and from my phone. This should give me more access and opportunity to write as time is at a premium these days with two little boys. Will see how much the Holy Spirit prompts me to write again.

It’s been 8 months since my last post. I have been very busy at work until recently and we are expecting another child in a few months. I have not had a desire to write in sometime but now have new access to my blog via my phone. It just might get me to write more.

Cardinal Olmsted?

I’ve always thought Cardinals should be rock solid in the Catholic faith, fearless of what the world thinks, and shining examples of how Bishops should be Bishops. So count me in on campaigning for Bishop Olmstead to be a made a Cardinal.

Bishop Olmsted has removed the Catholic status from St. Joseph’s hospital in Phoenix, AZ due to the multiple non-Catholic practices that have been occuring there. The media is trying to swirl up controversy but the matter is actually quite simple. If you don’t follow Catholic teaching your not Catholic. Holy Week is Here & So are the Attacks

It seems every year at Holy Week the mainstream media starts some new attacks the Catholic Church. This year they are trying to discredit and take out the Pope by printing lies and innuendo. Facts are short in many of the articles so I suggest reading some articles that don’t over look the facts. If you read the NYTimes you are among the lost sheep. You need to find a the “Good Shepard” and fast. I suggest the following for supplimental “news” reading this week, that is if your wanting the truth.

According to AmericanCatholic.org there are 97 US House Reps that claim to be Roman Catholic. (Updated from 98 - John P. Murtha, Pennsylvania died a few weeks ago, but with that said Jack was going to be a Yes vote) Of that only 9 voted against the pro-abortion Healthcare bill. If anyone see something incorrect below please leave a comment and I will look into it.

Congress Approves Health Care Bill Opposed by Catholic Bishops
March 22, 2010

Last night, by a vote of 219-212, the US House of Representatives passed the Senate health care reform bill opposed by the Catholic bishops and every major Pro-Life organization in America.

For decades, the Catholic Church has tirelessly encouraged our elected officials to reform America’s health care system in order to expand access to care. But the Church cannot support legislation that would expand access to abortion by opening the door to federal financing of abortion.

Yesterday, a handful of House members who had opposed the health care bill because of its abortion provisions reached an agreement with President Obama that they wrongly claimed would resolve those concerns through a promised executive order. There is again unanimity within the Pro-Life community that the executive order will in fact be entirely insufficient to the task.

It is expected that President Obama will sign the bill tomorrow. In the meantime, the US Senate will debate separate legislation under the filibuster-proof reconciliation process in order to make adjustments to the approved bill. None of those adjustments, nor the executive order, will change the fact that Congress has just passed perhaps the most significant expansion of access to abortion in the 37 years since Roe v. Wade.
