Stupak Appears To Have Fallen

Pro-Life & Democart appears to be now officially extinct.  It appears Stupak is falling for a meaningless Executive Order.  If the Executive Order really mean anything you would hear the pro-abortion crowd yelling bloody murder, like they were on Friday afternoon when Pelosi was feeling them out for a seperate abortion vote.  If Stupak thinks that the presidents executive order will mean anything he should no longer be called Stupak, but Stupid.

The reality of this or any other text, though is: It is meaningless legally. It has no binding effect. I don’t know a single lawyer with a working knowledge of the Constitution, Congress, and the Executive, who says otherwise.

You can view a potential draft of the excutive order here.

Update 1:28 CST:  Other reports say Stupak is still a No.  Coud this be the mother of all BLUFFS by the Democrats?

Fire Dog Lake

Fire Dog Lake is my new headquarters for looking for updates on the House vote tally.

Update:  I do not endorse Fire Dog Lake, it just has the clearest and up to date tally on where the voters in the House stand.

Dems Dropping “Deem & Pass”

From the WashingtonPost

Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) said Saturday that the House would take three votes Sunday: first, on a resolution that will set the terms of debate; second, on a package of amendments to the Senate bill that have been demanded by House members; and third, on the Senate bill itself.

Obama Catholic Approach - Divide Them

I don’t know if I posted this before or not but Obama has a definite approach to Catholics.  In order to win he has to split the Catholic vote.  No president can get elected without it.  He has split the vote between the lib-Catholics with his so-called social justice agenda (socialism/neighborly-ness) & the conservative Catholics (those who go to Mass each week AND follow church teaching).  He even picked off a few right leaning Catholics with his “hope & change” scam.  Hope & Change is code for “Death & Taxes”

For Healthcare Obama got his split between the Bishops & the CHA (catholic health association) who as of now appears to be Catholic in name only(CINO).  Any true Catholic knows you need to be listening to the Bishops and not the nuns on this.  One cannot compromise on the evil of abortion no matter how much “social justice” can be achieved with the legislation.  Also I never found it to be the governments responsibility to apply social justice, that responsibility I believe is squarly on the Church and the people.  Government just has to get out of the way, which is something they are not good at.

Look at Obama’s administration below made up of Pro-Abortion Catholics, and people think this isn’t calculated?  He has to look Catholic friendly to get re-elected in 2012.  Obama was never worried about women only about Catholics, that’s why Biden got the nod over Hillary.  Had KittyKat Sebilus refrained from receiving communion when Archbishop Naumann told her too the 1st time she’d probably be sitting in Biden’s seat.  She got in trouble weeks before the VP Pick from trying to receive communion after Naumann told her not to present herself in a private meeting, but she did anyway and was turned away by the priest.  When it hit the papers, Naumann had to call her out on it in public.  Obama couldn’t have that issue in play during his home stretch run against McCain, which is why I believe Biden is VP.

All of these folks are Pro-Abortion Catholics with exception of the Transportation guy who has no bearing on the abortion issue.  These are just the big spots just think of the 1000s of little jobs he gets to appoint.

Doug Kimec Malta Ambassador – This clown use to work for Reagan and then wrote a book on how Catholic’s could support Obama, which they can’t assuming they have a properly formed conscience, which all Catholics should strive for…
Bill Richardson The Democratic governor of New Mexico was named as Obama’s choice for commerce secretary on Dec. 3. He withdrew on Jan. 4 when it appeared that his confirmation hearings would be complicated by a grand jury investigation over how state contracts were issued to political donors.
Tom Daschle The former Democratic senator from South Dakota was chosen Dec. 11 to head the Health and Human Services Department. He withdrew Feb. 3 amid controversy over his failure to pay all his taxes in the last two years until after his selection.

The only Pro-Life person that I can find with any prominance in Obama’s administration is Ray LaHood Transportation Secretary, who is a Maronite Catholic and has a NARAL score of 0.  Good for Ray.

Sunday Vote

Some potential good news as it relates to the removal of the abortion language in the Healthcare bill.  I think Congress and the Democrats are greatly flawed thinking the passage of the Senate bill is a good idea.  But for its passage with the currently lack of abortion prevention would be an abomination.

The following is from the National Review Online via that AmericanPapist & KathrynLopez on Twitter.  In the mean time keep calling and emailing House representatives.

Stupak Talks, Feminists Roar

Bart Stupak met with Nancy Pelosi tonight. And has a press conference scheduled for the morning … On my Twitter feed, I see Diana DeGette (radical liberal feminist, if you need a broadbrush label — Yuval wrote everything you ever need to read about her a few years ago here) is not happy.

My understanding if a fix were to happen via an enrollment corrections bill, the Senate would have to pass it first. (And that’s what Stupak needs to insist on if he wants anything close to a guarantee. This bill has deeper problems — even for life — than are going to get fixed in a quick fix, though. But here we are.) I would think Barbara Boxer would sooner give up her seat (which she might have to) than allow that happen … for one thing.  Additional Articles from CNN included.

Update: Another Key Article

Money on Passage Back

Another swing in the money on Healthcare passage.  Keep calling, faxing, emailing your representatives.

ObamaCare

Something has happened over the last 48 hours, the money on the passage of the healthcare bill is going suddenly against its passage.  Let me just state that the money is rarely wrong so this is a good thing. All I can say is keep calling Congress and not just your representative but all of them regardless of where they stand and let them know you are against the bill in its current form.  Specifically we need to mention the bill’s taxpayer support of abortion.

Also I suggest that you ready Archbishop Naumann’s article and write Sister Carol Keehan, pictured to the left, here who gave support of the bill for the Catholic Healthcare Association.

UPDATELooks like some statements were made pushing things back past Easter.  But still keep calling.

Google Images & George Bush

Okay I just found out the other day that my George Bush picture is the top image on Google Images when you search on “george bush”

http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&um=1&sa=1&q=george+bush&btnG=Search&aq=f&oq=&aqi=&start=0

It actually brings a lot of vistors to my page.  I’m not sure how it got to be #1 but I might suggest that ”W” convert and www.GetToMass.com

UPDATE: 2/19/2010 1:05pm
Google giveth and Google taketh away.  The picture is no longer in the #1 spot or even on the 1st page although it was on Tuesday night.

Thank You Scott Brown

It was back in 2007 when my brother told me that if Rudy Giuliani won the Republican nomination that he would not vote for him in the general election in November of 2008 because he was pro-abortion.  I told my brother he was crazy, because his opponent would also be pro-abortion and that Rudy would be a way better choice than Hillary or Obama.  He said he just couldn’t vote for someone who was pro-abortion no matter what, and that he would just not vote in the November election if that was the case.

I believe the election last Tuesday shows why that argument is just lame.  Catholics have a duty to vote even if both viable choices are pro-abortion.  Had Scott Brown, who is pro-abortion, not been elected we undoubtedly would be  have new “health-care” legislation shoved up our backside that would cause way more abortions to occur in the country and would have had the American taxpayer help foot the bill.  With the election of pro-abortion, Scott Brown, that is no longer the case and the situation buys the American people time to get a new congress in place.

It’s time to wake up people, and pray for our country and our politicians like we’ve never prayed before so that we have true pro-life candidates in congress, not just those who pay lip service to the issue.
